The Earth Shookâ„¢
“This did not bode well for the hermit crabs,” thought Jude.
This thought’s primary motivation was to keep his mind off the large piece of debris sticking out of his leg. Whoops. Hermit crabs. Not good for them. No way. The fact that the seas are boiling is a starting point. That can’t be comfortable. Luckily, they’ve got their houses on their backs, so there’s nothing stopping them from just picking up and getting out of the water.
Of course, the flocks of seagulls swarming the shores may pose a problem. More of a problem is the virtual shower of seagulls raining down on the beach, swiftly followed by the shards of satellite that caused them to rain down in the first place. Shards of which were scattered about the beach, including the one… well, the one in Jude’s leg. Anyway, hermit crabs. Hermit crabs, hermit crabs. Hermit crabs don’t like shards of metal, which are running a tad hot after traveling at great speed from their lackadaisical orbit around the Earth and suddenly downward, faster and faster through the thickening air, possibly wondering “is it me or is there a decided tension in the air?”, our heavy atmosphere eventually rubbing a bit too vigorously against the space-worn metal until it all suddenly comes to a screeching (and tearing) halt against the Earth (or things that happen to be between it and the Earth – ouch).
“No, it was not a good day to be a hermit crab.”
disclaimer:
Wednesday! We’re on time! Again! Wednesday is the new Monday… I suppose.
Our offices still vaguely resemble a hazardous waste disposal area in the custody of a cleaning staff who neither care nor do they have the means to sop up any of the mess, but our publishing avenue to you fine folks is now upgraded to the nth degree.
What this means to you and yours, I have no idea.
It’s still not improving our timeliness, I see.
