Vittles and Kits

The ottoman just got fed up one day, and bolted, leaving the door wide open, rain eeking in the door and into the shoes left by the ready there.

Fred didn't notice until he went to kick back with his video games... but this didn't matter much to him, since he was a CIA spy, trained to 1) notice the out-of-the-ordinary and 2) take it in stride when it was out-of-the-ordinary.

So much for that.

disclaimer:

So the reading went off like gangbusters!

I have no idea if that is a good thing or a bad thing. You see, this is a canned message. Because we're on vacation, because online magazines and their staff need a holiday every twelve years or so, too.

So the reading went off, probably, unless it didn't, for some reason. And thank you to all of you that attended. However many of you that was.

And to those of you who didn't, please rush out now and buy Fenway Fiction to make yourself feel better, instantly, for missing the near legendary event.

We hope you enjoyed our 2005 lineup, and if we made it back in one piece from our lovely East Coast offices and holiday playground we're looking forward to bringing you the 2006 one... pretty darn soon.

This message may self-destruct in 30 seconds, unless our technical staff never finished that particular program, and I'm guessing they didn't, since they're technical staff, and technical staff are as likely to finish a project (nevermind on time) just about never. So, like you do with most software, just pretend it's behaving the way it was intended to behave and imagine this article has just self-destructed.

If you had feelings about this week's issue, be sure to let us know how you felt. If your feeling isn't covered here... well, I guess you're stuck, then, aren't you?
Liked it.
Didn't like it.
Would have liked more references to bats.
I'd rather be boiled in vinegar.

Also, we'd like your take on the now missing Summary Feature (email subscribers can still access the summary for the current week's issue only and you can sign up here). How do you feel about the (now gone) summary feature on each issue?
I miss it.
Didn't use it.
What summary, you mean I can get away with reading less?
Don't miss it at all.
